Testkitchen by Okra, nestled in the heart of DHA Phase 5, Karachi, promises a delightful culinary escape. Diners often rave about the quality and freshness of its offerings, with standout items like the steak sandwiches and chocolate tart receiving high praise. While the venue's limited seating can lead to long wait times, most agree that the experience is well worth it, blending the excitement of a bustling café environment with the pleasure of beautifully crafted dishes.

Aailah Fasih's review indicates a slight disparity between expectation and reality, particularly regarding the lime sandwich, which, while good, didn't match its hype. However, the cubano and chicken croissant sandwiches shined brighter in her eyes. Meanwhile, r m found Testkitchen's breads and pastries to be exceptional, describing them as the best he's had in Pakistan.

The restaurant’s open kitchen concept, where chefs skillfully prepare dishes, adds to the allure. Though it can get cramped, like described by Ayesha Naeem, the friendly service and enticing menu make each visit enjoyable. Overall, Testkitchen by Okra offers an inviting dining experience filled with fresh, flavorful dishes that leave patrons eager to return.

Testkitchen by Okra is widely praised for its unique and intimate dining experience, where patrons can observe chefs crafting fresh bakery and European-style dishes firsthand. Despite its limited seating and the consequent wait times, many appreciate the cozy atmosphere and view it as part of the overall experience. The menu, though concise, is noted for its carefully prepared and flavorful offerings, especially the variety of sandwiches and baked goods. While the food quality is generally well-liked, some customers feel the hype around certain items is somewhat exaggerated. Service is efficient despite the crowd, and the bakery selection is diverse. Overall, Testkitchen by Okra appeals to those valuing quality and atmosphere over speed and large menus.

I got the lime sw, cubano and chicken croissant sw. Loved all three but honestly was disappointed by the lime sw mainly because of how much it is hyped, not that its bad in any way - its just not as good as it is made out to be. Imo the cubano and croissant sw deserve much more hype. It's is to be noted that you're largely paying for the experience. I would suggest to dine-in once for the experience and then get take-out because its not worth waiting an hour. Overall good food, good exp. Food's fresh.

I went there for lunch on the weekend without a reservation. I had to wait for an hour, so I switched to takeout. The restaurant is not particularly large, and it was crowded with eat-in customers and takeout customers. There was a wide variety of breads and cakes, and the staff took our order. We bought a lot of things. Steak sandwiches, pain au chocolat, cherry danish, scones, focaccia, multigrain bread, cheesecake, cherry tart, etc. It was about 8,000 rupees for all that. I ate them after I got home, and was surprised at how delicious they were. It was definitely the best bread I had in Pakistan. The steak in the sandwich was also excellent. Next time, I'd like to try the eat-in option. This is a must-visit restaurant in Karachi.

A unique dining experience where you can see cooks and chefs baking delicacies right in front of you. The food was good but not worth the hype created around this place. The place opens at 0930 and we were told to reach there as early as 8 since it has v limited sitting capacity. Last year we reached after 0930 and there was no space so this time around we reached at 0830 and to our surprise we were the first one to be there even after 0930 it was not packed. Don't know the reason but shared our experience so none of you have to face any inconvenience.

A small, cozy café with very limited seating, so be prepared for a bit of a wait since they don’t take reservations—but honestly, it’s worth it. The menu is limited, but every dish feels carefully crafted and full of flavor. Everything we tried hit the mark. Great spot if you’re in the mood for quality over quantity and don’t mind waiting for a seat.

The place is a bit cramped but we got a place right away! So I’m not complaining about a wait time but I know almost everyone has that experience. The food was fresh, different and delicious! Here’s what we got- Shaved beef sandwich- 10/10 Lime chicken sandwhich-9/10 I just wish it was a bit warmer Iced Spanish latte- 8/10 very yummy but not cold enough. I wish they had just shaken it with ice before serving Lemon ice tea- 8/10 very very tart and not sweet which made it super refreshing! Chocolate tart- 10/10 so so smooth and delicious. The dark chocolate flavour was exceptional The service was exceptional, all the staff was so nice and friendly. Special shoutout to the desserts!!

Really love the vibes here. The busy kitchen with experts preparing tasty fresh food for us gives a really different vibe. Also loving the aroma of fresh bakes. The sandwiches, baked and everything that we tried were very tasty. Don’t get the same vibe and quality anywhere else in Karachi.

Very very small place, not even enough to move around as we explored the items.. Had to take away since time constraint and there was a wait time! Expensive but awesome discounts. Been on my list since years, from Lahore! Tried a couple things. The Danish was immaculate. House special sandwich (beef) was decent, but not something I'd especially go and order.
